At Shaw Building Group, we have four operating divisions. Between them, they provide the full spectrum of construction and construction-related services. We handle projects that range from minor refurbishments to major greenfield developments.
Major Projects
Our Major Projects Division undertakes larger projects, including construction of new buildings on greenfield sites, large scale upgrades and refurbishments of existing buildings, and projects involving technical complexity. We can draw on the expertise of our team of highly skilled project managers, site supervisors, engineers and contract administrators, to tailor our services to your needs. Our past projects include work for the education, health, industrial and government sectors, as well as for community organisations, clubs and tourism.
Refurbishment and Fitout
Whether your project involves refurbishing an existing building or fitting out a brand new one, we can make the process a smooth one. At Shaw Building Group, we’re experienced in refurbishing and reconfiguring existing spaces, including occupied buildings, and we take pride in carrying out those projects with minimal disruption to ongoing functions and workers. We’ve also handled the fitout of new office accommodation, shopfronts and specialised practices such as dental and medical surgeries.
For over two decades, we’ve provided fitout and refurbishment services to a large number of government clients under panel contracts. We can handle projects ranging from a few square metres to thousands of square metres, from a single tenancy to a multi-storey building.

Our Engineering Services Division is staffed by professional Engineers and Project Managers who can provide a full range of construction-related services including:

Programmed and ad hoc maintenance
Asbestos remediation and occupational hygiene
Buildability reviews, staging and early contractor involvement
Building Inspection Reports including pre-purchase and general condition, hazards, contamination, dilapidation and Building Code compliance
Building services and equipment surveys and upgrades – electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and fire
Residential Developments
Shaw Building Group’s Residential Development Division – was formed to build on the company’s well earned reputation as one of the region’s most accomplished commercial builders.
We have built hundreds of quality homes in Canberra and the surrounding region and the quality of our work has been independently recognised with numerous projects winning Master Builders’ Awards for Construction Excellence.
