THE PROJECT —

The ACT Health Protection Service monitors and enforces public health regulations relating to a broad range of environmental factors that bear on the physical wellbeing of the citizens of the ACT. These include food safety, communicable diseases, water quality, radiation safety and control of pharmaceutical and poisons. As a core business function, the Service operates a testing laboratory that provides a broad range of analytical and forensic services in support of toxicological investigations, police seizures, monitoring of air quality, and food and water testing.
