The Canberra Hospital - Main Electrical Switchboard Replacement

This project centred on the replacement of the Main Electrical Switchboards and submains at the Canberra Hospital. These switchboards provided power to 14 separate buildings on the campus.

It included the construction of 2 new switchrooms and a new 9 storey riser shaft, installation of kilometres of cable trays, replacement/installation of new substation transformers, substation switches, main switchboards, kilometres of new and replacement submains, main distribution boards, automatic transfer switches, generator switchboards and power factor correction boards.

All of the works were undertaking in a fully operational hospital, with complex and extensive planning required to ensure that all works were conducted whilst maintaining full operational capacity, with no disruption to the working of the hospital.
