SHAW LIVING

Industry recognition for our talented Project Managers

Shaw Building Group takes great pride in celebrating the success of three of our key staff members (Ross Greenup, Ron Jedrzejek and Kevin O’Hara) who have collectively received prestigious industry awards for their achievements. These accolades are awarded through highly competitive processes by the construction industry and they are a testament to the individual’s skills and commitment to quality outcomes.

Most recently Ross and his team won both the ACT and National awards in the Australian Institute of Building Commercial Construction in the $1m to $10m award category for the Canberra Hospital Emergency Department & Intensive Care Unit Extension. Ross was also the recipient of the Master Builders Association Project Manager of the Year award where his work for this complex hospital project was duly recognised. Ross has been with the company since 1996 and his meticulous attention to detail ensures that projects are completed efficiently, in a timely manner and to the complete satisfaction of our clients.

Ron Jedrzejek also demonstrates that no project is too difficult for the Shaw Building Group team and is always up for a challenge. Last year he was an AIB award recipient for the High Performance Computer Facility at ANU, winning the ACT Professional Excellence Award for Commercial Construction $10m to $50m and receiving a Certificate of High Commendation in the same category at the National awards. This highly serviced, complex and unique project was successfully delivered within an occupied and busy campus.

Kevin O’Hara is no stranger to managing complex projects and his 35-year track record of achievement is outstanding. Having been with Shaw Building Group since 2003, he ensures that projects are completed efficiently, in a timely manner and to the complete satisfaction of our clients. In 2011 he was acknowledged by the AIB for the Neurosurgical Suite & Related Works at The Canberra Hospital, winning the ACT and National Professional Excellence Awards for Commercial Construction $10m to $50m. Kevin also received the 2011 MBA’s Project Manager of the Year award for his efforts on the Neurosurgical Suite project.

“While it is always humbling to receive industry awards, it is even more rewarding to have such talented and capable people as part of our team. These awards speak volumes towards our approach to our projects and consistent delivery of high quality outcomes” says Managing Director, Valdis Luks. “We have developed a strong reputation for being able to deliver complex commercial projects and it is because of our in-house technical knowledge and project management skills that we have this capacity”.
