At Shaw Building Group, our first consideration is our clients’ satisfaction. But it is satisfying to have your work recognised for professional excellence by industry bodies such as the Master Builders Association and the Australian Institute of Building. We’ve received more than 40 awards for projects ranging from medium density housing projects to health facilities, from retail and commercial fit-outs to major commercial developments. 2017 AIB National Professional Excellence in Building Awards

The Australian Institute of Building (AIB) announced the National Professional Excellence in Building Awards for 2017 on Saturday 2 September. At a sold out gala dinner at The Sofitel in Brisbane, guests heard how the judging panel was ‘blown away’ with the quality of the winning works from previous state and territory Awards programs. Project Manager Christian Hansen was awarded a Certificate of High Commendation for the Refurbishment of the Drill Hall Gallery Project in the category of Interior Construction.

2017 MBA Award for Building Excellence

Congratulations to Shaw Building Group’s Mr Fluffy team on winning the Master Builders Award for Demolition of Mr Fluffy Houses in the Category of Work Health & Safety - Residential.

2017 AIB ACT Award for Professional Excellence

Christian Hansen was recognised for his contribution to the building industry at the 2017 Australian Institute of Building’s NSW / ACT Professional Excellence in Building Awards and awarded the Professional Excellence Award, for the Refurbishment of the Drill Hall Gallery, a Heritage listed building located in the ANU Campus.  The Award was in the Category of Interior Construction.

2016 AIB ACT Award for Professional Excellence

Andrew Curran capped of a year of high achievement by winning the prestigious Professional Excellence Award, as team leader for the Refurbishment of Coral Park Aged Care Village, Page.  The Award was in the Category of Interior Construction $1 Million to $10 Million.

2015 AIB ACT Award for Professional Excellence and 2015 AIB National Certificate of High Commendation

Jack Harris and his team - Richard Semmler, Terry Dwyer and Jonathan Luks scooped the pool with a second major Australian Institute of Building (AIB) award for Construction Excellence.  Following their success at the ACT Award night in which they picked up an award for Professional Excellence for their work on reconstructing the Mt Stromlo Director's Residence, the team were awarded a Certificate of High Commendation for the same project at the AIB National awards held in Sydney. In the words of the AIB Judging Panel: "These awards are the ultimate personal achievement for a professional builder.  They recognise the contribution and leadership shown by individuals to the successful completion of a construction project, reinforcing the fact that the success of any firm can be attributed to those responsible for construction projects."

2015 AIB ACT Certificate of High Commendation

On Friday 1 May 2015 the ACT AIB Professional Excellence in Building Awards were held at the Hyatt Hotel. These awards reflect the highest standards of building and construction management, research and development of building projects and recognises the individuals professional excellence in the building and construction process.

We would like to congratulate Paul Djikic and his team of Andrew Lieske, Terry Dwyer, Jonathan Luks and  Ron Jedrzejek for winning the Certificate of High Commendation in the Commercial Construction $10 million to $50 million category for the University of Canberra Sports Common.

2014 AIB National Award for Professional Excellence

Ross Greenup and his team, Andrew Curran, Gordon Smith and Kevin O’Hara enjoyed continued success at last week’s 2014 AIB National Professional Excellence in Building Award winning the Commercial Construction in the $1 million to $10 million category. The national award recognises Ross’ leadership at The Canberra Hospital Emergency Department & Intensive Care Unit Extension which won the same category at the local awards earlier this year. Not only do the AIB Professional Excellence in Building Awards reflect the highest standards of building and construction management, research and development of building projects in Australia but they also recognise an individuals' professional excellence in the building and construction process. “Nothing was ever too difficult for Ross and the dedicated team who supported him on this project,” said Valdis Luks, SBG Managing Director. “This award is a true acknowledgement of the team’s commitment to completing the project to the highest possible standard and is well deserved. Congratulations to all for an outstanding result”.
